Best lazy Sunday ever

I will not ever forget yesterday, it was so much fun. And it's because 1) cousin Beija dropped by to visit to have a Rock Band day 2) we walked Erica's NEW DOGGY, a Lab puppy whose name is officially Gustav a.k.a. Gus 3) we had a LOT of food, beer and cheese.

Beija arrived in the morning carrying the blasted calorie-heavy stuff (beer and Camembert) and we started to play right away. This is a dear cousin I didn't get to see for a long long while because she lived in India for a couple of years. Her mom, Tita Bubut, is a UNICEF heroine who served there for a while.

I suddenly thought, a long time ago, I had a grade school teacher who, I remember, would surely declare that BEER and CAMEMBERT are homonyms.

Beija seems to be the sort of person who is determined to acquire skills the right way. Frustrated with her drummer scores, she studied the Rock Band tutorials for a good while as I gathered Adamantite and took care of my animals and pets during the Winter Season (Harvest Moon DS). I totally ignore tutorials if I can help it, whether for games or softwares. I dunno, I just tend to make "kalikot" something I want to learn until I get it. Though Beija got me thinking, it might have taken me a quicker time to get to Expert level in the Guitar if I had pored over the tutorial at any point in my guitar-player growth curve.

After playing for a good while Tita Judy/Tito Nols/Nilda prepared a fantastic combination of pickled eggplant, pochero, pancit malabon, crispy ukoy, crispy bread sticks, toasted bread, roast pork and cranberry sauce. While we were eating we heard Gustav's lonely barkings (all the family had gone to Green Meadows) and resolved to visit him later when Erica comes home.

After lunch we played again and got a bit tipsy from drinking a few glasses of Red Horse. In that state we visited Erica who was delighted to see me as a loudmouth drunk again. :) We looked at the lovely, lovely leetle puppy. Its face I can say is REALLY handsome and "clean" and so ADORABLE!!! I want to borrow him for a fashion shoot, seriously.

We hung out at Erica's for a good while talking about whatever, then we decided to play our third round of Rock Band. It was after a few minutes when we realized we were too drunk to play. Our fingers weren't exactly following our brains. So we just lazed around looking stupid and doing nothing, until Beija got sober and I got around to trying to sober up as well (it really takes a longer time for me). At least I could walk straight.

Then we heard Erica's booming voice declaring it's time to walk Gus! We walked around the subdivision with the wee little lovely puppy doggy. :D :D :D Gus is so fat, he waddles, and he pauses every 7 minutes or so because he's jast a tayny pappy and he can't really walk that far. My God he's jast so adorable because he's soooo sweet and waddly and cuddly. O my leetle pappy!!! Funny thing thing Ino (Erica's little bro) is scared of him.

When we got back we had a rather funny dinner. We ate more or less the same stuff because we didn't get to finish everything in the lunch we had earlier. We observed Tito Manolo assemble a "pork loin roll" - pork loin slice, then a basil leaf, then a spot of cranberry sauce, then roll that up. I tried to make my own combination of pancit malabon, with some pochero sauce on top, with dollop of pickled eggplant. The others thought it was gross and weird but I TOTALLY LIKED IT! Though Beija was wondering if we were really related.

Well after dinner, fourth of round of Rock Band, then Beija had to go home :(. Can't wait until she's my neighbor and I get Rock Band 3. SHIT with all those new songs!
